Add Users

You'll register users in the Databricks account so they can access workspaces in ~5 min.

Why this matters​

The workspaces are up, but nobody can log in yet. Users live at the account level, and from there they get assigned down into whichever workspaces they need. If you skip the account level and start creating people inside individual workspaces, you end up with the same person registered three different ways and permissions that never quite line up. Do it once, at the top.

How it works​

There are two ways to get users in, and the right one depends on how many people you have.

  • Manual: add users one at a time in the account console. Fine for the first few admins or a small team.
  • SCIM: sync users from your identity provider (Entra ID, Okta, OneLogin) on a schedule. Once you are past a handful of people, this is the one you want. Nobody should be hand-typing emails for a hundred employees.
